Your monitoring tool gave you a number. Maybe 23% visibility. Maybe 41%. Maybe you're up from last month, or down, or flat. Here's the question none of those tools answer: which specific paragraph on your site is causing it, and what do you rewrite first?

Traqer, Peec, and Profound are good at what they do. They track share of voice. They show you citation sources. They tell you whether your brand appeared in a given AI conversation. That's monitoring. It's genuinely useful. But every independent review of these platforms reaches the same conclusion: they show the what, not the why. That number is real. It tells you something. What it doesn't tell you is whether the problem is on your homepage, your product page, or a blog post from 2023. It doesn't tell you whether your paragraphs are too long for RAG chunking, whether you're opening with brand narrative instead of a declarative answer, or whether your content is so context-dependent that retrieval systems can't extract it cleanly. What monitoring tools actually measure
